Service Description
Wednesday 30th September, 1-3pm Throwing a cylinder is the starting point for making so many different shapes on the wheel – mugs, jugs, bellied bottles – all begin with a basic cylinder. Effectively pulling the weight of clay up from the wheel head and maintaining even thickness through the walls is a common challenge to every potter. In this two-hour session, Corisande will share the tips and techniques she has learned to help you master consistent cylindrical forms. Why not use the cylinders you create and pair this workshop with our one-hour handles course on Wednesday 7th October, 2-3 pm? This course is for those who have some experience of wheel-throwing but would like support to improve their skills and confidence. As the aim of this workshop is to practice your throwing, there is no firing included in the course. You are welcome to take home any greenware pieces for firing in your own kiln. If you don't have access to a kiln we can glaze your work for a small additional cost of £4 per piece. You will be provided with all of the tools and clay needed for the workshop. *Please note this course requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.*
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your place, please contact us with as much notice as possible. If we can find someone to fill your place, we can refund your payment minus a £15 admin fee. If we are unable to fill your place we can offer a voucher* for the value of your purchase, minus a £15 admin fee. If you have cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice and we are unable to fill your place we are unfortunately unable to refund your payment. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your event, your payment will be fully refunded. *Vouchers are valid for 18 months and can be used towards future workshops, private sessions or pottery purchases.
