5-Week Monday Pottery Classes

Spend a summer discovering the magic of working with clay! Join Jean Sampson on Monday mornings from 9:30 to 12:30, starting on the 20th of April. The studio is in a beautiful walled kitchen garden with fabulous views looking out to the Black Mountains - the perfect spot to get some creative inspiration or try out some al-fresco pottery. Our relaxed classes are designed to support you through your clay journey. Whether you are a complete beginner or want to develop your own practice, Jean will guide you through a range of pottery techniques, including hand building, throwing, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing. We keep our class sizes small with a maximum of just four students, so everyone has optimum teacher time, access to the pottery wheels and the chance to become part of our wonderful supportive potting community. Over the term, you will have the freedom to learn and develop a variety of pottery techniques, Jean will work with you to achieve your goals which could include altering thrown pieces, faceting on the wheel or making composite pieces. The five-week course costs £250 which includes all the tools and materials you may need including your first 1/2 bag of clay and access to our library of underglazes, slips, oxides, and glazes. The first 2kg of firing is included within your course fee, for any additional firing beyond this there is a small additional charge based on the weight of your pieces.
