5-Week Handbuilding Course
Tuesday Evenings, 21st April - 19th May
5 spots left
Join us for an introduction to handbuilding and surface decoration across this Summer 5-week term. Classes will run from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on Tuesday evenings, from April 21st to May 19th. The studio is in a beautiful walled kitchen garden with fabulous views looking out to the Black Mountains - the perfect spot to get some creative inspiration or try out some al-fresco pottery. Our relaxed classes are designed to support you through your clay journey. Across the five weeks, you will learn a range of handbuilding techniques from slab building and pinch pots to coiling and press moulding. You will also spend some trying out a range of surface decorating techniques, including sgraffito, painting with underglazes, and using oxides. We keep our class sizes small, with a maximum of just five students, so everyone has optimal teacher time and the chance to become part of our wonderful, supportive potting community. This course is perfect for beginners or those wanting to develop their skills. The five-week course costs £250, which includes all the tools and materials you may need, including your first 1/2 bag of clay and access to our library of underglazes, slips, oxides, and glazes. The first 2kg of firing is included in your course fee; for any additional firing beyond this, there is a small additional charge based on the weight of your pieces.
